Johnny O'Bloggin's Musical Monday........

The band is Soulfly. The singer/guitar player is Max Cavalera. He is the founding member of Sepultura, but left that band in the late 90's after a dispute. He formed Soulfly after his departure from Sepultura. He uses different artists for all studio releases to avoid a "Stale" sound. Interesting story actually. I'm sure it's on wikipedia. Anyway, this song is entitled "Moses". Hope you enjoy.

  1. Great stuff....I remember Sepulchera well...Had you ever heard of a band called Bad Brains from the 70's and 80's? They were black, played great reggae stuff, but on the other hand, they were the fastest evilest punk/metal band playing at the time. They played great sets mixing traditional reggae grooves with super thrash....best selling recording was called The Quickness.

    1. Of course I've heard of them. They were even a fixture in a Punk documentary I saw with Henry Rollins. It's funny that you mention the black community in punk and thrash, because it's not common. But when you go to a metal show, it really is pure equality. No such thing as color. Just awesome music. Now I know what next weeks post will be. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL. I promise you'll love it.

  2. now this is weird, my Google Chrome blogger has an auto translate feature which asks me if I want to translate a web page to english. It is indicating that your blog is in Romanian and would I like it translated? Perhaps I should click on the translate switch and see what happens.
